I am a Consultant surgeon practising both in the NHS and
the private sector. I qualified at Kings College Hospital
Medical School in 1977 and trained in London, Brighton,
Leicester, Norwich and the United States of America before
taking up my present post as a Consultant in Chelmsford in
1992. I am currently Director of Surgery at the Broomfield
Hospital in Chelmsford.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England
and hold a Master of Surgery degree from the University of
London. Professional affiliations include the Association
of Endoscopic Surgeons and the Association of Upper GI
Surgeons.
I have extensive experience in keyhole (laparoscopic)
surgery having performed over 2500 procedures in the last
14 years. In addition I have a wide experience in the
treatment of cancers of the upper gastrointestinal system
(gullet and stomach) as well as providing a comprehensive
general surgical service.
My private practice is based in Chelmsford, Essex at
Springfield Hospital and also at the Chelmsford Medical
Centre. Chelmsford is only 35 minutes by train from London
Liverpool Street station. There are excellent road links
with Springfield hospital situated just off the A12 London
Road. Stansted airport is only 20 minutes away by
car.
